Are you a procrastinator? Want to change but think you can’t? Try the 2-minute rule and get things done!
I’ve been a procrastinator so I know how difficult it can be to get started. This blog is an excellent example! The thing is, once I get started it’s easier to keep going and get it done. I learned this simple 2-minute rule from James Clear and appreciate his inspiration. https://jamesclear.com/
Do you want to travel more but get anxious and overwhelmed just thinking of planning a trip? Spend a couple minutes looking for meetup groups in your area that take short day trips and plan it for you. Start there, get used to traveling in a less intimidating way. If you want to lose weight or get in shape but feel the whole task overwhelming, start by eating something healthy like a juicy piece of fruit in the morning and that can set you on a healthy eating pattern for the rest of the day. Less than 2 minutes! Want to start running but not ready for a marathon? Put on running shoes and run for 2 minutes. You’ll probably find your self running for more than 2 minutes but if it’s only 2 minutes that’s ok. That work assignment you’ve been putting off? Sit down and work on it for 2 minutes and you’ll get more accomplished then if you put it off one more day. It works for me and it may work for you. It won’t work if you don’t try.
What’s something you’ve been putting off that you can do in 2 minutes or less right now? Anyone can spare the next 120 seconds. Use this time to get one thing done.
